"Let's Talk Story"
 

"Let's Talk Story" is a Hawaiian way of saying, "Let's have a conversation." It's about sharing stories, catching up, and connecting with each other in a relaxed and friendly way. In Hawaiian culture, talking story is an important tradition that brings people together & strengthens community bonds.

By understanding how cognition relates to the way we feel and behave, we can nurture our emotional and physical well-being.  The mind-body connection is about understanding that our feelings , thoughts (beliefs, attitudes) can negatively or positively affect our biological functioning. Conversely, what the physical body does (exercise, eating habits, posture) or how the body systems react create an effect on our mental health (either positive or negative).

Somatic therapy focuses on the connection between the mind and body, using body-centered techniques to promote healing. It involves awareness of bodily sensations, movement, and touch to process and release physical and emotional tension. Somatic therapy recognizes that trauma and stress can be stored in the body and that healing can occur by addressing these physical manifestations.

Each of these practices shares a common goal: to harness the body's natural ability to heal itself and promote mental well-being by addressing the physical manifestations of emotional and psychological issues. By integrating brain-spotting, hypnotherapy, yoga, tapping, and breath-work & MBSR into a holistic approach, individuals can experience comprehensive benefits, including:

 

1. Enhanced Self-Awareness: Understanding how emotions and trauma manifest physically.

2. Stress Reduction: Techniques to calm the nervous system and promote relaxation.
